Some gardens need far more than a weekly grass cut. Larger houses often come with sweeping lawns, long runs of hedging, mature borders, trees, water features, lighting and irrigation, and all of it needs looking after together. Our grounds maintenance service is built for these properties across Surrey, Berkshire and the surrounding areas.
Each programme starts with a walk round the site. We look at how the land is used, which areas matter most to you and how the planting should develop, then agree a monthly routine to suit. Visits are a minimum of four man hours, which gives the team time to work through the grounds properly rather than rushing from one task to the next.
This service suits homeowners with larger private gardens and grounds, and commercial clients who want their outdoor space to look cared for every time someone arrives. It works well where a garden has several distinct areas that each need a different kind of attention.
Estate management means caring for the whole site as one place, rather than treating each job on its own. We keep an eye on lawns, hedges, borders, trees, water features, lighting and irrigation together, so a problem in one area is noticed before it spreads to another.
In practice that means lawns kept to a steady standard, hedges cut at the right time of year, borders weeded, fed and mulched, and water features cleared and checked through the seasons. Lighting and irrigation are checked as part of our visits, so you are not the first to find a fault on a dry week in July or a dark evening in November.
Every programme is shaped around the property, and it can include:
Because CJ Landscapes is a full service landscaping company, the people caring for your grounds are backed by our in house landscape construction capability and our network of garden designers. If a visit shows that a border needs replanting, a path needs relaying or irrigation needs to reach a new area, we can plan and carry out the work without bringing in another firm.
That continuity helps most on gardens we designed and built ourselves, because the team looking after them understands how the scheme was meant to grow. We are just as happy to take on grounds built by another contractor and set a plan to bring them on.
The work changes with the year. Spring visits tend to focus on feeding, edging and getting borders ready for growth. Summer brings lawn care, watering checks and keeping hedges neat.
Autumn is the time for clearing leaves, cutting back and planting, while winter suits pruning, repairs and planning ahead for the next season. Spreading the work this way keeps the grounds looking settled all year rather than tidy for a few weeks at a time.
We look after grounds across Surrey, Berkshire and the surrounding areas. Our local pages say more about the gardens in Hartley Wintney, Barnes, Sunningdale, Windlesham, Henley on Thames and Virginia Water, and every town we cover is listed on our areas page.
If you would rather have a lighter level of care for a smaller garden, our garden maintenance page explains how our monthly plans work.
